Connect & Learn 2020 – Feb. 1 at St. Paul’s UMC, San Jose
Our El Camino Real District UMW “Connect & Learn” 2020 offers resources, ideas, and inspiration for local church United Methodist Women who are in UMW leadership roles, whether “official” or not.
This event features keynote speaker Rev. Jennifer Goto of St. Paul’s UMC, speaking on the topic of what it means to “let our light shine.”
Following the keynote, breakout groups will be offered to prepare women for leadership roles in UMW, and to explore what UMW is all about. The following breakout groups will be offered:

- Teaming Up to Grow UMW

November 16: Memorial Service for Patricia Madsen
We are sorry to inform you that a past District UMW president, Patricia Madsen, passed away October 21, 2019.
Patricia was a devoted and active lifelong United Methodist Woman. She had great enthusiasm and ideas for her local unit at Willow Glen UMC, as well as for our District UMW. Those who attended the District UMW Spiritual Retreat at Mission Springs will remember her leading the “Wake Up Warm Up” morning exercise sessions.
The memorial service for Patricia will be November 16, 2019, at 2 pm, at Willow Glen United Methodist Church.

By Nov. 15: Apply for funding to support your campaign to interrupt the school-to-prison pipeline!
Reminder: The application deadline is November 15, 2019.
The Office of Racial Justice invites United Methodist Women members and groups to apply for funding to help support local organizing campaigns to interrupt the school-to-prison pipeline. United Methodist Women members are eligible to apply for work happening at any level of the organization, including circle, unit, district, conference and jurisdiction. United Methodist Women may also apply for funding to support work that is happening collaboratively, in coalition/partnership with other local organizations or groups, so long as such work involves substantial participation from local United Methodist Women. Goal of Funding Support
Advance United Methodist Women’s efforts to organize to interrupt the school-to-prison pipeline by providing small-scale funding support to enable deepening of existing campaigns and/or development of new campaigns. Continue reading
